Yet another Startup Meet. It was a usual morning with little inquisitiveness as to how useful it would turn out. Entering the Awfis, in connaught place for Content Circuit, organised by Desired Wings and BW Disrupt, the liveliness and enthu started building right after entering the place. Who will look forward to a weekend when your work space would be like Awfis, the unique and spacious co-working place.
Talking about the Panel of speakers, it was nothing but a buffet of energy bites. Worked far better than any Patanjali or Nestle energy bars on me 😛
Taking on the baton, Sandeep Amar, CEO Indian Express Digital, a very down to earth man, made me feel worth, while delivering original content and not worrying about SEO tricks and other paid baits often offered to companies.
Building Business Out of Content
Next, I got to hear Angad Bhatia, CEO MensXP, one website I drool to read for interesting and useful stuff. If that sounds for men, curiosity is what made Mars and Venus thing click. 🙂 Besides there is lot other stuff too to feed your reader self. Brilliant concept served and executed by Sahir Usman, Founder CNMSports of vernacular content. This one really made me realize we’re going global and serving most of content in English. Where most of our own country’s population is missing out from this globe, unable to read English and so deprived of much informative and useful content. Panshul Jhingan from One Digital Entertainment with his sharing on making YouTube videos, added to the concept well infused in our mind that content itself can be a great business, a king, when used wisely and in benefit of the readers.
Content as a Marketing Tool
Moving on to next Panel, this was a set of very energetic, positive, convinced, experienced and dynamic people. Excellent tips were given by Apurv Chamaria, VP Corporate Head Mktg HCL Tech and Samriddh Dasgupta, Chief Mktg Manager Times Dineout. Real marketing people, made it so simple to understand how to make the clients understand the worth of content. Content is really looked down by far even though it is a strong medium of reaching out to the end user. Guys, content is not JUST content. Content is the mass of any hollow thing, and that’s everything. Without a strong content, you are blank.
Building Communities and Conversations
Panel 3, with Siddhartha Sharma, Editor Technology and Automobiles, Network 18 Digital; Bhawna Grover Bagai of ibibo; Vivek Jain whom I better know as founder of lawyersclubindia and CAclubindia came up with the similar suggestions to keep yourself original, versatile, true, appropriate and thus useful. RJ Simran, I got to hear in this panel, favorite of many listeners, added to writers lot that media is also a content and that too is valued by its originality.
Emerging Avenues of Content
Perfectly placed the panel 4, comprising Sharat Bhattatiripad, Programming Head Fever 104FM ( who is not a man, but a live radio station walking on two legs with a smile more in his eyes than lips ), who boasted me with a pride and feeling that if I am creative, if I know what I am doing, if I do what I am good at, no one can beat me. Samir Kapur, Head Adfactors PR added that Public Relations is about building relations and that is what we humans do all the time. So don’t wait for anything to happen or anyone to come and do it for you. You can do it too (as long you grow so big that you outsource it :)) This panel was very nicely moderated by Rohit Sardana, Business Head BW Disrupt. He seemed to have his finger on the pulse of enterprise, connecting and gelling with the youth very well.
What I got from this summit? Confidence not less than ocean, few nice connections, a weekend worth any adventure, lot of creative ideas, chest full of pride for the road I am travelling and the Yummy Donuts 😛
